Agree completely. I would add that I hope any threat of violence is taken seriously, investigated, and put into context. Any threat with intent to harm others should be prosecuted. I guess that’s why we’re all stunned regarding the verdict – there was no intent of … well … anything. It was clearly a joke.

I’d also add that in these difficult times concepts such as free speech are more important to us than ever. I think that perhaps the irony of the sentence being passed on remembrance day has escaped the judge.

Glad to hear the puppy won. Personally, I’d have chosen the iPad (I’m allergic to dogs!)

Hi Adam,

Some interesting points here and I have to say I agree completely! I think we are both very much arguing the same point here, that when something is read out of context it is very easy to misunderstand how the original message was meant. I do feel that in the modern world in which we live, there is a threat from terrorism that can not be ignored. In the past 10 years, espically since 9/11, there have become increased antibodies to terrorism. Any comment around this subject irrespective of where or when it was made will not be ignored.

p.s. the puppy won!
